I lied

Aren't these cookies cute?  You use a cookie cutter from William Sonoma to spell out the messages on your cookies.  I think these are darling.  Still trying to think of ideas for Aubrinn's bridal shower.  I think these would be fun.  I don't think $20 is too bad for the whole set.  You could totally use these cookie cutters for all sorts of things.

Out of Town This Week

We're out at my dad's all this weekand so all of my saved post pictures are at home.  No lovelies from me this week.  Love you much.  We learned that flying with Eliza can at times be great and at other times be NO BUENO.

$1 Store Trays

image via Joy's Hope

Aren't these trays so cute?  I love the sassy colors and the fact that they are made from things from The Dollar Tree.  I think the turquoise/pink combo and the green/turquoise combos are my favorite.

fun decor for your shower

I don't know if your shower is indoors or not, but I love this idea. It's strips of vellum sewn together and hung. I think it would be adorable. I saw it on Jordan Ferney's blog. Here's the link to the tutorial.

p.s. I ate an entire cantaloupe for lunch today. Yummy. Now I look like I'm having twins.
p.p.s. I think I have just about sealed the deal on "eleanor"...Trev was saying what nick names he'd call her and everything, so I know we're close. :)

Cute Cupcake Liners

I found this tutorial on UCREATE today.  I think these would be cute to make for the bridal shower I'm throwing for one of my old Young Women in July.  Aubrinn was my only Laurel for my first 6 months as YW President.  I always had to laugh b/c we are only 6 or 7 years apart, so it was an odd Leader/YW relationship.  We were more like sisters really.  Anyway, aren't these cute little cupcake liners?  My vain prideful heart wants this shower to be fabulous.  Aubrinn's family isn't in a position to do a whole lot for her and I can't trust that her little 22 year old friends know how to throw a good party.  And thus I feel pressure to make it nice for her but especially nice for me.  I'm a brat like that. :)

When Can I Move In?

all images via MadeByGirl via Three Men and a Lady

I found my current stylish dream home a few months back and couldn't motivated my lazy rear to post about it.  I'm sure it's the yellow and gray combination that is pulling me in.  Funny how yellow used to do nothing for me and nowadays I fall madly passionatelyin love with anything yellow.  I'm a fickle girl.

I dare you to not fall in love....

Seriously, the yellow?  BE STILL MY HEART!!

Bringing Sexy Back

It's time for our poor sad blog to get its sexy back!  Poor thing has been so neglected.  My fault really.  Your post was the last post ages ago and I couldn't get myself back into the groove.  And then I saw this...and I fell in love and swooned a little.

I love the yellow and the band is gorgeous.  And now I'm motivated to share the pretties again.  Such a happy little ring.

Every Color But Yellow

So I know it's after Easter and you probably aren't looking for an skinny yellow belt, but I just found a skinny belt in a handful of different colors at Shade.  Here's the link.  The pink one and kelly green ones are my favorite.  Not bad for $10.50, right?

Life is getting in my way

I'm feeling overwhelmed and uninsprired.  I'm sorry I have nothing fun to share.  My life is getting in the way of my fun.  Therefore I have no things to love and share.  I do howerver love you.  I am definitely planning to come play on Saturday.  I'll leave here around 10-ish (which really probably means 11:00).  So truly, I should say I'll leave here at 9:00!  I'll bring a nice stack of magazines for your viewing pleasure and we will spend the day on the couch.  It will be lovely.  Do you want me to pick up anything on my way down?  A delicious beverage or anything like that?

Can't Decide

So I found this tutorial today for interchangeable flip flops.I can't decide if I love this idea or hate it.  They could end up being pretty cute depending on what you did.  Thoughts?

Maybe this will help?

So, since I've never felt like crap while pregnant, I have no idea how to help you feel better.  I don't know if any of these will work but I saw these in a comment section of someone's post on pregnancy suckage and freezer meals.  You already know about the Zofran, but maybe one of these others will help too?  Totally a shot in the dark:

I don't have any tips for frozen food, but I DO for morning sickness. I am in the throws of it right as I type, and these have helped me a lot:

1. Sea bands--little black wrist bands you buy at a drug store that have acupressure points. THESE WORK. I PROMISE.

2. Zofran-- if you have insurance, have your Doctor prescribe this miracle anti-nausea pill. It truly takes a significant edge off.

3. Tums/Anti-acid--This one took experiencing it to believe it. I don't take it when I have heartburn (because I don't have that yet), but when I feel nausea. IT WORKS. This may be obvious to you, but it wasn't for me. I am grateful I finally tried it.

More Nursery Love

Have you seen this nursery?  I love the colors.

Wall Stripes

I saved this tutorial for how paint the stripes on a wall from Young House Love.  I really like this blog.  I'm sure the stripes are something that's just easy to figure out but I was happy to see someone was kind enough to just walk me through the math so that I only sort of had to use my brain.  Maybe it will help in your nursery.  I have dreams of stripes in my home some day.  I'm not sure if it will be this house or the next house but it will happen.  Lazy is a big part of what is holding me back right now.

Having silhouettes of my kids like these would make me feel like nie nie. I found a tutorial here (http://andersonfamilycrew.blogspot.com/2010/01/make-your-own-silhouette-picture.html) of how to make them. But I think I can figure out an even easier way in photoshop. I'll keep ya posted.

Organization

In my perfect world I am awesome at organization and planning.  In my real life I kind of stink at it.  I've really been wanting to create some sort of weekly schedule so that I can get things done around the house and free up more time on Saturdays to actually play as a family.  Essentially I'm trying to experience some sort of cleaning nazi conversion (yes, I'm going to the dark side).  Brian has been the trusty laundry man in our house for the whole time we've been married.  Yes that means I've had someone else to do my laundry for the last 7.5 years.  With his new work schedule and working longer hours it has been hard for him to keep up and he's frustrated.  So I decided I would take over and then maybe I could start adding some cleaning tasks each day so that I can get everything done and thereby open up our Saturdays for more fun or just being lazy.  Naturally in my perfect work it is going great.  In my real life it sucks.  I know that right now it's just because I'm juggling my work life too and one day I won't have to do both but for now I do and it sucks.  By the way this long ramble is leading to something. :)  I've been having a hard time keeping track of all of the "to do lists" in my head and started trying to use a planner but I'm not loving having to write down the same tasks each week.  Yes, I have to write them down b/c my memory is crap since I had Eliza and I can't keep track of work and home. So I use Microsoft Outlook for work but for home I want something on paper b/c the computer isn't always handy/functional/in a central location so that I see it all day.  Anyway, my point to all this is that I came across an idea that I'm going to try.  Michelle at {Chez Moi} has been taking some organization class and came away with this idea called a "brain box"
It's a recipe card box that's divided out into daily tasks, monthly tasks and seasonal tasks.  It's totally one of those that you need to click on the link to see how she's set it all up.  I totally think this is a great idea.  You create cards for each task and then file it under the appropriate sections.  Then each day you pull out your to do cards for the day and get to work.  I don't know why this speaks to me they way it does, but I think it's going to be my new plan of attack.  I like that I do the work of creating the box/system once and I don't have to mess with it each week like in the planner. I got annoyed with re-writing my consistant cleaning jobs in my planner each week.  Plus the physical aspect of refiling the card back into the file box when each task is done somehow feels better than a dinky checkbox in my planner.  I know, I'm a nerd.  Organizational items and office supplies thrill me, so that's probably the real reason I like the idea. :)

Michelle got the idea from an organization class that a woman named Marie Calder Ricks teaches.  She's published a few different books that I've seen at Desert Book from time to time.  I think I'm going to hunt some of them down at the library and see if I like her stuff.  Her blog is here. Yum

I saw this recipe on Cafe Zupas blog and thought of you.  It's a recipe for that Zuppa Toscana soup that you like at Olive Garden.  We could totally make this.  I also have a recipe somewhere to make their breaksticks and italian dressing at home.  Naturally I saved it but never tried either one.  But I think this soup is definitely going on the menu at our house very soon.

Ha Ha Ha

So I totally laughed when I saw this on etsy. I think an anonymous package to be sent to a Ms. B. Bitter may be in order. Mom and Dad would be thrilled. I would giggle. Baby would possibly topple.

Baby Names

So I'll be living vicariously through your for the next 9 months.  Just plan on it okay? :)  I was reading CJane's post about baby names tonight and thought of you.  Do you read CJane?  She's great.  Her post is about choosing "out of the norm" baby names and the comment section has a TON of different ideas.  Some of them seem like ones that would be up your alley.  Others are just plain crazy.  Reading it makes me want to start making a list of baby names that I love.  Brian and I can't have any boys in the future because I don't have a single boy name on my list.

1. Claire---I love it and Brian hates it
2. Ella---Brian is only so so on this one.  I have time to convince him otherwise.  Wouldn't Ella Claire Warburton be cute?!  Hmm, maybe I could convince him on Claire if we use it as a middle name.
3. Jackson---okay, I lied I do have one boys names that I like.  I'd call him Jax for short.  Of course with a mom named Jill that still brings a flood of torturous "Jack and Jill" memories from my school days.
